Transition Year French
Students have been busy completing their French Cultural Project looking at France’s best known monuments, historical figures, looking at a major region in France, French foods, French customs, French sports, the differences between French and Irish education systems, differences between Irish and French Transport systems and looking at the different French speaking countries. They then presented their project in front of the class. Take a look at snippets of our TY Projects above.
5th year French
5th year students have hit the ground running revising grammar topics from junior cycle while also looking at more complex grammar for example “le plus-que parfait” et “l’impératif”.
They have also started focusing on oral topics for their oral exam next year which is worth 25% in higher level and 20% in ordinary level of the overall mark. We have looked at the following topics “moi-même”, “la famille” et “une journée typique”.
Students have also been focusing on their aural skills which is vital for the Leaving Certificate exam which is worth 20% at higher level and 25% at ordinary level.
